APS MCC
Enhanced MCC training to Airline Pilot Standards
What is it?
The aim of the APS MCC course is to illustrate, develop and train the skills you need to safely operate a commercial air transport aircraft in a multi-crew environment. Designed in accordance with EASA Part-FCL AMC2 FCL.735.A, it prepares you for your future Type Rating in a modern transport-category aircraft, such as the Airbus A320.
The necessity for an enhanced MCC training arose when the airlines became aware of the difficulties that a complex aircraft presents to aspiring pilots, either during the selection process or already in the Type Rating course.
Apart from being a mandatory requirement to apply as an airline pilot at an increasing number of airlines, completing an APS MCC course gives you a competitive advantage during the recruitment process – a guarantee to your future employer of your Type Rating's successful outcome.
What does it include?
The course is structured in two phases:
Phase 1 – Theoretical knowledge instruction
In this phase you will learn all the theoretical information required for the successful completion of this course. It takes around 2 weeks, all in the comfort of your own home, where you can access all the training materials, progress checks, and home exams from your PC, tablet, or mobile phone.
At the end of this phase you will have a good command of JOC, CRM, MCC, and APS principles, all of them to be applied during the simulator training phase.
Phase 2 – Synthetic flight training
In this phase you shall apply all the accumulated information to different training scenarios you will be presented with, during the course of 10 simulator sessions, or 40 flight hours (20 hours PF and 20 hours PM) in our Airbus A320 simulator located in Bucharest.
The 40 hours are distributed as follows:
12 hours of Jet Airplane Training, which will give you the mindset required to fly faster, heavier, and more complex aircraft.
20 hours of Multi-Crew Cooperation training, which will illustrate the proper principles of operation in a multi-crew aircraft. You will find that all the flight exercises in this phase are extracted from the Airbus A320 Type Rating program.
8 hours of Advanced Airline Operations Scenario Training, further deepening your understanding of airline operations, and crediting the training towards the Airline Pilot Standards qualification. This includes a 4 hour assessment session as well.
What does it require?
The entry requirements are as follows:
Minimum 18 years of age;
Minimum ICAO English Level 4;
Valid PPL(A), CPL(A), or ATPL(A) license;
Valid ME/IR(A) rating.
What does it cost?
The cost of the APS MCC training program is 4.800 € (VAT included), which includes all theoretical training, simulator, and instructor fees.
